An Interview with Amalea!

About a month ago Amalea from Luscious asked me to do an interview for her and I did, so I thought I would do the same for her :) I know this is a bit late but here it is! Oh and you must check our her blog!

1) During the winter what is your favorite kind of make up to wear?
During the winter I tend to wear warm looking make-up, Nice browns and cream eye shadow, and instead of wearing my usual pink blusher I swap it for a light bronzer :)

2) Does your skin get dry during the winter? And what kind of products do you use for it?
I've not really noticed to be honest, but, I always moisturise before and after wearing make-up and I always use a facial scrub and wash in the morning. so if you do get dry skin in the winter try moisturising a bit more. I believe baby's products are just as good for everyone's skin, making my skin really soft and not dry at al. If you've not tried baby care products try them, you'll be surprised!
this is my facial wash.
                                                                               I think this is amazing!
                                                                          it works fantastically.

3) What is your opinion on plastic surgery? Would you ever get it?
Hmm, Well to be honest there's a lot of people who are a fan of plastic surgery and that's not just celebrities any more. I believe celebrities have made the public want to work on there look but that's because in magazine's they're airbrushed and it can make some people a little upset with themselves so they then have something done and it some cases can get out of hand. If you're going to have surgery I guess it's your choice but I don't agree with it myself unless it's for medical reasons. Would I ever get cosmetic surgery? when I were younger I would of said yes without a doubt as I had a lot of insecurities and were bullied at one point in my childhood but now I wouldn't want to change who I am, I was born to stand out not to fit in and that's what everyone has to remember.

4) What is your favorite hair care products? I don't suppose there's a favourite, but I use baby shampoo and Vo5 gloss me smoothly shampoo and conditioner. I always use heat protection, I use Head Guard and I like Charles Worthington straightening balm and Nicky Clarke curling tong spritz.

5) How do you feel about using foundation everyday? Should girls use it only if they really need it or should it be an everyday thing?
I wear foundation daily, not everyday but every time I go out. Sometimes I will wear foundation when just lounging in the house which I guess is a waste but I like to feel good so I think if you're happy wearing foundation every day then do it. However, If you have good skin I wouldn't bother. I do try myself not to wear foundation as much, I don't want my skin to get bad as I get older but I'm sure as soon as I'm happy with my skin, I'll wear less until eventually I'll wear none.

6) What is your favorite time during the holidays? What are your favorite memories?
I love Christmas as it's a time for family and you can eat as much chocolate as you like :)
I have a lot of memories but one my favourites would have to be as a young child, just me and my family all in a circle cooped up in the lounge with the fire blazing as we opened our presents. My sister would always cry with happiness. That's a memory i'll never forget.

7) When do you think its an appropriate age for girls to start wearing make up? When did you start wearing make up?

When they feel as though they need it I guess, but I'm sure parents won't agree when you're ready yourself. I started wearing make-up at the age of 14.

8) What is your go to look? What products do you use?

what do you mean by this question ? (sorry if im being dumb) just explain it and i'll send an individual answer for this.

9) Would you rather have your make up look great or your hair?
That's a tough question but it would have to be hair all the way! my hair is really curly and kinky so that would have to look great always.

10) Why did you get into blogging?
I guess it's just my passion for writing, I have always loved writing stories, poems and songs, I guess it rubbed off into something eventually. I feel as thought blogging can get you somewhere in life and spread wise messages, I'm hoping for it to help me with my journalism career I want to start next year. If you can make one person happy by blogging then at least your doing something right. I'm happy myself to be blogging and I enjoy it so I guess that's why I got into it.

Stress!

Last week and this past weekend as been stress central! I've had papers to write and finals to study for. So what better thing than to use an anti-stress masque? I've got one little pimple from all of the stress of studying and trying to pass classes.

Now usually my mom and I get facials from the spa we go to, but since I didn't have time and I wanted to stay indoors because it's freezing out I decided to try one of my at home face masques. I've never used at home ones before so I thought I would give you my review on it.

The masque I used was a mud pac anti stress. It wasn't a peel off kind.

It had a very nice consistency to it. And it smelled fresh and clean.

It wasn't sticky or too thick and went on very nice and evenly.

I tried to stay away from my eyebrows.
As soon as I put it on it was cool and began tingling on my skin.
It felt really good like it was actually working.

The directions say to wash your face with warm water to open up your
pores then spread evenly over your face and neck. It said to leave
on for 10-15 minutes to dry, but I left it on for about 20.

The end result! That's my little stress pimple. After wiping it off I felt and saw a noticeable difference.
My skin was so smooth to the touch I couldn't stop rubbing! And my nose which is usually oily looked
matte and fresh. I didn't really notice too much of my redness gone, but it did make my skin glow.

After wiping off the masque with warm water I put on some of my Clinique Moisturizer because my cheeks can get really dry.

Over all I really liked this facial masque! It gave great results. Not spa quality exactly, but really damn close! It smelled really clean and refreshing and made my skin feel great!

Have you used any at home facial masques before?

Some Bare Minerals for the Holidays

On the 13th day of Christmas my mom gave me one of the gift sets we got at Ulta on Black Friday.
Said gift was the Bare Minerals lip gloss and blush set. I've never tried Bare Minerals before, so I was eager to see if it was as amazing as everyone says it is.

The blush and lip gloss are in the same color, Hush Hush. It's a sparkly rose gold color. It has flecks of pink and gold in it and it's just too pretty! I think it would go with pretty much any skin tone seeing as how blendable it is.

The blush and lip gloss

Sorry for the horrible swatch picture.
I could not find good lighting anywhere in my house!

Hush Hush
I know they had another gift set with a lip gloss and matching blush, but in a different color. I forgot what it was called but it was just as pretty as this one.

Have you tried any Bare Mineral make-up before? How did you like it?

Intsagram!

First off I'm sorry for the layout of the pictures! I cannot get them how I want them!
Anywhooo, here are some pictures I've uploaded to instagram in the past week! I thought I would share them with you considering my lack of recent posts :( Booo!
I've been so busy with studying and school work and finals that I haven't really had time to pay attention to my blog.

So let's start!
Who doesn't love cupcakes? I mean really? Even me, the girl who cringes at sweets loves them! My boyfriend and I frequently haunt this little cupcake place by my house and recently we got a gingerbread one, a strawberry one, and a carrot cake one. Needless to say they were all delicious!

I know I've used this picture before, but I wanted to show you the instagram version! My mom has been doing an advent calendar for me and gives me a little present each day of December until Christmas! I love that about my mom!

A few night ago I went out with my boyfriend and some friends for a few drinks and I think I found my new favorite! Raspberry Cider! It's amazingly delicious! I had a few glasses and got a little buzz from it! Seriously if you haven't tried any alcoholic cider before I suggest you try the raspberry kind.

Oh the great turkey! This was from Thanksgiving! How long ago was that? I'm so behind! But that was our Thanksgiving bird and boy was it delicious!

That's my fish, Fish. Yes his/her name is Fish. My boyfriend tried to win me on at a fair, but failed until I gave it a try and won! He/she keeps me up at night sometimes because she takes the rocks in her mouth and moves them around the bowl making all kinds of scary noises!

And of course a Pink Ribbon!

So that's all I have for today! As soon as this week is over I promise to get back to blogging!

25 Days of Christmas

Everyday on the First day of December up until Christmas day, for as long as I can remember, my mom has done a sort of advent calendar for me. Every morning before she leaves for work she leaves me a little present on my dresser. I love when she does this! I'm such a momma's girl. I'm 21 and she still does this for me! Have your parents ever done anything like this??

This was what I got on Day 2.
I collect Disney Vinylmations.

Day 1 I got a $10 gift card to Target
Day 3 I got a $25 gift card to Nordstrom

And today on Day 4 I got these two
Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps

What do you think about the idea of an advent calendar?

NOTD

As well as going out and about, I also squeezed time in to get my nails done with my momma.
I got my usual Gel Manicure. I opted for pink glitter this time since I had black last week. I love how bright and flashy this color is! Everyone else that was getting their nails done there kept saying how cool they looked. I also got my toes done in the same color.

What do you think? Do you think it's too bright?

Weekend Shopping

While out and about today I picked up a few necessities:

I use this EVERY day, and when I saw they
had a mini one I had to have it. It looked just too cute.

At Ulta they had a little sale: 5 items for $5.
I got two eyeliners in black and 3 face masks.

Ok how cute is this little palette?? Its the size of a
business card holder! The colors look amazing.
If you want me to do some swatches
let me know. I just didn't want to open it quite yet because
it looked to pretty.

These were the face masks I was talking about
for the 5 items for $5. They are from the
brand Montagne Jennesse.
I've never tried them before

but they seemed like a good deal.
The Passion Peel Off deep cleanses, purifies, and protects
The Chocolate Masque moisturizes
The Mud Pac is anti-stress

I usually don't crave sweets, but I had to give in and
get this chocolately goodness.

Dr. Feelgood and Instant Brow pencil from Benefit.
I've used Dr. Feelgood before and I have to say I've been
seduced by the velvety feeling it gives my skin.
And I ran out of my MAC eyebrow pencil so I got this one.
I've never tried it before so I'm excited.

Olay Quench Daily Lotion Plus Shimmer
I LOVE this lotion! As soon
as put it on it just sinks into my skin
and doesn't leave a greasy after feeling.
And I like the light smell.

I also got a new phone case!
My mom loves Barbies and she got me
this cute little number to
jazz up my phone. She got the same one too :)
Well that's all I got this weekend :)
How was your weekend???xxo
