Day 7

Day 07 – A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you
Breast Cancer and just cancer in general have had the biggest impact on me this year.
My cousin recently passed away from breast cancer and I still haven't gotten over it.
I know October has been Breast Cancer awareness month, and I've been trying to do my part in trying to find a cure to this deadly disease. My heart goes out to anyone who has ever had it or is still fighting it and their families.

Day 6

Day 06 – Favorite super hero and why

Ok this post kind of annoys me. I'm not sure why, but it does. I'm not against having a favorite super hero at all, I just don't have one. Maybe it's because my boyfriend talks my ear off about Batman and Captain America and The Avengers and all of those other guy, that I get kind of tired of them. Wait I actually do quite like Captain America and Rogue from X-Men, but that's besides the point. I'm not too into super hero movies.

A Solid Foundation

I've been wanting to try some foundation, but I didn't know which one to use until I saw this Maybelline Fit Me at Target! It was on sale for I believe $7. I can't believe I've been missing out on flawless looking skin all this time! Seriously this stuff is wonderful. It makes my skin look bright and luminous and isn't too heavy. I also got an E.L.F foundation brush to apply it since I heard that using sponges is horrible. The brush I think was $3. I usually don't need much coverage on my skin, but it makes my skin look more even and radiant. I would seriously recommend this to anyone who has not yet used a foundation or to anyone who needs a new one. I love it.

October Haul

I picked up a few goodies today while my mom and I were out and about.

1) I've been dying to try some Hard Candy make-up for a while, but I didn't know if it was going to be good quality, so I bit the bullet and bought the Fox in a Box Spicy and Sweet blush/bronzer. I believe it was $6 and so far I like it!
2) Since my leopard manicure wore off I needed to redo my nails and I chose pink glitter Sally Hanson Salon Effects. Who doesn't love glitter and pink??
3) Lately my skin hasn't been looking it's best due to me being sick so I thought I would give these Clean & Clear face washes and daily lotion a try. I actually like them. They make my skin feel all tingly in the shower and smell great! They did make my face look brighter and more refreshed, which was what I was looking for.
4) And of course I had to get my eyelashes. I usually don't get this brand, but they were the only ones the store had and I decided I would give them a try.

Day 4 & 5

Yesterday I was feeling under the weather so I didn't do the day 4 challenge so I'm going to combine day 4 and 5. I hope you don't mind :)

Day 04 – A habit that you wish you didn’t have
Day 05 – A picture of somewhere you’ve been to

A habit I wish that I don't have is being so impatient. I know it's not really a habit, but it's something that does interfere with my daily life. It comes from from my severe anxiety that I suffer from.

And on a lighter note here is a place that I've been to :)
Las Vegas!
I love Vegas. It has everything there and makes me feel so happy :p.

Day 2

Day 02 – The meaning behind your Blog name

On to day 2 of the 30 day challenge :)
My blog name and my twitter name simply mean I'm just an ordinary girl like everyone else that likes to shop and wear make up and do girly things. I try to be relatable to other girls out there. I'm not a supermodel or have supermodel looks, I'm not rich, I'm not famous, I'm just a girl and hopefully other girls out there can relate to me :)

Day 1

  • I was named after Dana Delany the actress
  • I really do have a control issue. I need to be able to control things or else my world goes to shambles :p
  • I really really don't care for sweets at all! Weird huh? I would much rather take a steak and baked potato over cake and chocolate and ice cream.
  • I've had an obsession with Dooney and Bourke ever since Misha Barton was their spokesmodel for the "It Bag".
  • People mistake me being quiet for me being mean. I usually am quiet when I first meet people but as soon as I get to know you, you'll see I'm not.
  • I HATE math with a passion! I cannot stand numbers.
  • I LOVE reading! I always have a book downloaded on my nook at all times!
  • I have a weak spot for Harry Potter. He was my first love. (Don't get me started on Twilight which I cannot stand)
  • My parents got divorced when I was 15 and it's been hard ever since.
  • I'm a recovered WebMD addict
  • I have a slight magazine problem. I have subscriptions to about 15 different magazines and I secretly think the mail man hates me at time.
  • I like cooking, but I'm usually too lazy to do it so my boyfriend and I always go out to eat, which is really really bad, I know.
  • I'm a horrible texter. I usually forget I get texts and don't text back.
  • I'm an only child.
  • My boyfriend and I wrestle like we are in a UFC match.

Sally Hanson Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips

Since my nails and cuticles are in such horrible shape, I decided to forgo my bi-monthly manicure and let them rest for a few weeks, but I just couldn't let them be unpolished so I decided to try the Sally Hanson Nail Polish Strips.

I thought the application of the strips was pretty easy once I got the hang of it. On top of putting the strips on I put a light coat of clear nail polish over it for insurance. (warning: do not grab your phone with wet nails, my iPhone screen now has a huge streak of clear nail polish)

Overall I like how they came out, even though the picture doesn't look like it. I'm a horrid photographer.

I hope you are all doing well :) Let me know what you think about them if you have tried them before.

October Birchbox!

Earlier this month I decided to sign up with Birchbox and see what it was all about. Birchbox is a monthly subscription that sends you personalized make up samples right to your door. Every day this month I've been coming home looking for my box only to be disappointed until this evening! I finally got my first one and I can honestly say I'm happy with what I got.

Inside is:
1. Ahava Rich Cleansing Cream. I'm a little wary on cleansing creams since I usually use Clinique's 3-step skin care routine, but it doesn't hurt to try does it?
2. Befine Lip Serum. I love lip glosses, and chapsticks, and anything that promises to make dry lips nice and soft so I was excited for this and I had to try it right when I saw it. I was kind of shocked when it came out of the tube because I was expecting a cream or something different that what came out. It looked like oil! After I tried it, it was love at first swipe!
3. Laura Geller Spackle Tinted Under Makeup Primer in Bronze. Ok, I'm not to sure about this product at all! I usually don't use foundation besides my beloved Mac powder so I'm not sure how this is going to work. If you have tried this before let me know what you think!
4. Orofluido Beauty Elixir. I have a thing with hair oils. I'm in love with them. I must have about a thousand bottles in my bathroom of different hair oils. This one in particular smells sooooooo good! Like a vanilla latte. I'm excited to try this out tomorrow!

So there you have it! My first ever Birchbox!

Questions :)

I thought since I haven't done a post in a few days I would do one of these questionnaire things. I hope you don't mind :)

What is your current fashion obsession?

  • Rings! Big ones, small ones, tacky ones, diamond ones, plastic ones, it doesn't really matter as long as they look good on!

What is your current makeup obsession?

  • Mascara and false eyelashes. I wear false eyelashes everyday I don't have to get up early. I love the way they make my eyes look. Mascara I wear basically everyday and I don't think a look is complete with out eyelashes.

What are you wearing today?

  • Shorts, tank top. Basic.

Hair?

  • Air dried and wavy.

Do you nap a lot?

  • Napping and I are best friends!

Why is today special?

  • It's one of those days where I had nothing to do besides work for a few hours and laze around.

What would you like to learn to do?

  • I would love to learn to be more patient. I think I'm the most impatient person ever!

What's for dinner today?

  • Today it was steak, herbed shrimp, rice pilaf and a baked potato with my fabulous boyfraann :)

What are you listening to right now?

  • Some song on Pandora that I don't even like.
What is your favorite weather?

  • Cold Cold Cold Cold. I HATE being hot!

What's the last thing you bought?

  • I bought the steak for dinner and my boyfraan bought the rest.

What are your essentials when traveling?

  • Underwear, jammies, conditioner (I hate hotel conditioner), phone charger, and iPad.

What's your style?-

  • I've been called a hipster, but I don't think that is my style at all. I think its just laid back whatever looks good in the closet kind of style.

What is your most challenging goal right now?

  • Passing math! I cannot stand numbers.

If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be?

  • L.A. The hills all the way!

Favorite vacation spot?

  • I love Las Vegas. It's not really a vacation spot, but I've never really been anywhere else cool.

Name the things you cannot live without?

  • My moose pillow pet :) He protects me at night when all of the spookies come out at night. Oh any my mom too. Her cooking is to die for!
How was your childhood?

  • It was fabulous up until my parents got a divorce. I'm an only child so I had it great being the baby of the entire family.

What would you like to have in your hands right now?

  • So many things!

What would you like to get rid of?

  • All of the cuts around my fingers. I'm a germaphob and I swear I wash my hands every 20 minutes, so they get really dry and start cracking :(

What are you most excited for?

  • Life!

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go and what would you do?

  • I would have to ponder that, considering I would only be going for an hour.

Which countries have you visited?

  • Mexico

What scares you?

  • Watching C.S.I and thinking it's all true.

Fill it out too and let me know a little about you :)

NOTD!

I got my nails done this weekend and I thought I would show you. I know I'm a few days behind, but I've been busy. Please forgive me :( Anyways I got a gold base color and gold glitter on top. It's the shellac manicure that I usually always gets. I thought gold would be a lovely color since we are suppose to be in fall now. (Please excuse my horrible cuticles, I wash my hands constantly and they get really dry.) So what do you think of the color? Is it too "out there"?

Event Outfit!

This weekend I have an event to go to and I thought I would show you what I was planning on wearing. The dress is amazing on. Is a deep purple and goes with the bracelet my mom is going to give me (not pictured because it's suppose to be a "surprise") The shoes are OMG to die for! I've been eyeing them in Nordstroms for a while now and now I had the perfect opportunity to get them and actually wear them! I'm so excited to wear this outfit! The random pieces of jewelry are just that, random pieces that I picked up at Forever 21 when I got the dress. More rings to add to my collection and another sparkly bracelet! What do you think about the shoes and dress? Do you think they go together? Let me know! :)

Addicted to Shopping

My mom and I went shopping yet again this weekend! I swear we are such shopaholics and may
need rehab soon. Anywhooo these are the gems I got this time around!

1. I've been using Clinique 3 Step skin care
for quite a few years now
and I alway use the
Clarifying Lotion 2 for my
oily nose and dry cheeks. It works wonders with
the mild soap and lotion. Since I got my refills on
the soap and lotion I needed my toner.

2. Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment.
I've been using Moroccan Oil for the past week
but honestly I don't like smell, but I love how well it works
and I want to save it because it is so expensive. I got this
to supplement me so I don't go through my
Moroccan Oil quickly. I think it works about the same
but much cheaper.

3. I know, I know I'm a bit late on this
but I just had to get the Naked Palette from Urban Decay.
I love the colors! They are so rich
and beautiful and soft. So many looks
from just one palette! It also came with
a mini primer potion and a brush. I heard that some
have come with two eyeliner, but I guess
mine didn't, thats too bad considering I LOVE their
eyeliners especially in Zero and Bourbon.

4. Ulta was having a sale on TIGI Dirty Secret dry shampoo
for only $7.99! For a full sized bottle!
I've used this a few times before and
I like it. I usually wash my hair
everyday because I can't stand feeling dirty, but
for those off days this really works. And it smells amazing!

5. My mom got me these Steve Madden shoes
from Nordstroms and I absolutely LOVE them!
They are so simply, but so official looking.
And they are super comfy even though
they don't look like it.

6. My mom and I went on a massive
crazy spending spree on YSL make up.
(Well she did and I got 2 things)
I got a lipstick in a nude color that is absoulety
amazing! I'm sorry I didn't take  picture, but
trust me it's wonderful! And I got YSL
Touche Eclat. This is a highlighter pen
that really does work! Its amazing. I'll take a picture of
what it looks like later. Trust me
its amazing as well.

7. I got this MAC eyebrow pencil because
I was starting to break out using the
E.L.F eyebrow gel. I wanted something
lighter and this was it! It fills in my brows without
looking too dark and heavy!

8. Ulta also had a sale on full sized Urban Decay Primer Potions
Two of them for $18! One regular one and the other in
sin. I'm excited to use the Sin one with the
Naked Palette I got!
So there you have it! My weekly shopping haul! I hope you like and let me know what you think and if you have any comments on the products! <3 Have a lovely week beauties!

Goodies Pt. 2

I know I promised you another post of what I got when I went shopping this weekend with all of the clothes I got and here it is! Sorry for the horrible pictures, my mom was rushing me because she was going to wash them.
So I'm really into vests at the moment and
I thought this one was super cute with the short sleeves
I got this one from Nordstrom in the BP section

I'm also really into sweaters and stripes
and the sales lady said this one was super comfy and
goes with anything. The blue stripes are not as
blue as the picture makes it seem. I had the flash on.
I also got this from Nordstroms.

I know this one looks a little weird, but honestly
it's really cute. It a little sweater that you can wear over a
cami and it's super soft!
This was a Nordstroms buy as well.

This little tank top is amazing. I swear! It has a built in bra.
I wore it the other day
and it looked really good! I got this from American Eagle.

This is my favorite buy of the weekend! I love this dress!!
It looks so good on! I got this from Forever 21.
And lastly I got another sweater to be ready
for the cold months ahead. I got this from American Eagle as well.
So there you have it! My haul from shopping last weekend :) Let me know what you guys think about what I got!

Closest

I thought I would do a post on my closet. Right now it's super messy! As you can see I'm addicted to purses! I love purses and I might do a post on my collection. Would you lovely people like that? So this was a random post and if you don't like it I totally understand lol. I just thought I would give you some insight in to my messy life :) Have a lovely day people!

R.I.P Steve Jobs

One of the greatest innovators of all time has died. Steve Jobs was not just an inventor, but an inspiration. He was my inspiration. For as long as I can remember I've been using an apple computer. It was actually my first ever computer. He will be missed in the technology world and no one can ever compare to him. He truly was a mastermind of technology. RIP Steve Jobs.

Goodies Pt. 1

I feel like I can't go a weekend with out shopping! I swear it's a serious addiction! And this is only part 1 of this post! I have another one coming with all of the lovely clothes I got too. So let's begin.
1. I got this mini emergency kit from Sephora for $13 and oh my god it's amazing. I'm always paranoid I'll be stranded without something vital so this was perfect! Inside it has: dental floss, lip balm, break freshener, emery board, clear nail polish, nail polish remover, hair spray, clear elastics, earring backs, stain remover, double sided tape, mending kit, deodorant, adhesive bandage, tampon and pain delivers! Whoo that was a lot. It's all packed in this cute silver case and ready for your purse!

2. Since my mom and I are big supporters on breast cancer research it was a no brainer that we had to get this little pallet. I didn't take a picture of the other sides, but it has three layers the top is eyeshadow, middle is lip glosses, and bottle is a blush/bronzer combo. We got it from Sephora for only $15!

3. I got these nail polishes from Nordstrom and I think they are the cutest colors ever! I love the blue and the purple is so electric. They were 2 for $8. I got the eyelashes from Sephora and they were only $8. they are called Mink since they do look like real mink lashes. I love them and I cannot wait to wear them out.

4. Ulta was having a sale and I got this baked bronzer from Physicians Formula. I don't own any products from them so I thought I would give this a try. Hopefully it will be all I've ever looked for. I'm not too sure how much this was, but it wasn't much at all.

5. These are my favorite buys of the day! I had to get the Betsy Johnson ring! I just had too. Is so gaudy and tacky and just amazingly awesome! I got it from Macy's and it was $60. The second ring is from Nordstrom and it's so weird it's cool! It was $10.

6. Since I've seen quite a few reviews on this Natural Eye pallet from Two Faced I had to try it out for myself. I haven't used it yet, but I can tell I'm really going to like it. I love the colors. I got it from Ulta for $36.

7. Ok Ok I know I'm a little late on the Moroccan Oil trend, but I just couldn't resist! I had to try it out for myself and see if it's as amazing as everyone says it is.
